Arleen Mary Bubon

Arleen Mary Bornemann Bubon, age 97, of Antigo died on January 21, 2021 at Rosalia Garden. Arleen was under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Arleen was born February 20, 1923 in Antigo to the late Fred and Clara (Spencer) Grabowsky. Arleen was united in marriage to George Bornemann in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Matthew Bubon and he preceded her in death in 1999. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1941. Arleen continued her education at Columbia Hospital Nursing School. She returned to Antigo where she had a career at Langlade Memorial Hospital working in the medical surgical unit and obstetrics. After retiring, Arleen remained active, volunteering with the hospital auxiliary and Retired Nurses Association she was a member of the Business Professional Women group. Arleen was active in the visual support group here in Langlade County. She rarely missed a Monday night with her BB Jacks group, and she was a part of Group 1 and Group 2 for bridge club. Arleen enjoyed fun, family, and friends. Arleen was a member of St John Catholic Church. Arleen is survived by a daughter; Barb (Tim) Suick of Antigo, sons; Bob (Rose) Bornemann of Colorado Springs, CO and George (Roxann) Bornemann of Wausau, step-children; Matt (Bonnie) Bubon, Mary Lee (Bill) Rudersdorf, Linda Kieslich, and Carol (Tim) Kearns, step-sister; Margie Hirsch of Butternut, WI, grandchildren; Gina Suick, Ryan Suick, Brian Bornemann, Daniel Bornemann, Kalin Bornemann, and Clare Bornemann, great grandchildren; Janice Bornemann, Brooks Bornemann, and Cade Ward-Suick, step grandchildren; Beth, Mark, Tim, Kevin, Michael, Rick, Tracy, Bill Jr, Amy, Ryan, Jeff, and Ann, and step great grandchildren; Aiden, Andrew, Mary Estelle, Mathew, Jeremy, Joseph, Hannah, Bryce, Ian, Elise, Kira, Kaila, Stella Dot, Hoffman, Brett, Shane, Paige, and Schyler, step great great grandchildren; Chase, Logan, Cole and Riley. In addition to her parents and husbands, Arleen was preceded in death by a brother; Robert Grabowsky who was killed in action during WWII. A Mass of Christian Burial for Arleen will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St John Catholic Church at 4:00 PM with Father Charles Hoffmann officiating. A visitation will take place at the church prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Antigo Cemetery. Those in attendance will be asked to socially distance and wear masks. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rosalia Gardens, LeRoyer Hospice, and the many friends who allowed Arleen to take their arms and helped guide her after she lost her sight.
