Eldridge C. "El" Slater

Eldridge C. "El" Slater, age 89 formerly of Mattoon, died Saturday at Homme Home in Wittenberg. Mr. Slater was born May 12, 1924 in the Town of Almon to the late John Fred and Edith (Pollock) Slater. He served in the US Marine Corps and the US Air Force, retiring from the US Air Force. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and especially liked visiting Arizona. He was fond of animals and had many dogs and horses throughout the years. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. In honoring his wishes no services will be held.
