Gerald F. Randl, longtime Antigo resident, died at Langlade Hospital on November 8, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born October 8, 1933 in Green Bay, son of the late Rose Mundl. He married Marie Dietrich on July 28, 1979 at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo, and she survives. Mr. Randl graduated from Antigo High School in 1951 and attended Northcentral Technical College. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956. He was employed as a cheesemaker at Kraft Foods, and later worked part time at Copp's. In earlier years, he operated a dairy and potato farm in the area. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. He especially liked to get together with family for celebrations. Survivors include his wife, Marie Randl of Antigo; 5 daughters, Mary (Randy) Seis of Antigo, Lori (Dave) Hasse of Antigo, Kelli (John) Jenkins of Rhinelander, Patti Hansen (significant other Earle Becker) of Denmark, WI, and Jodi (Matt) Keller of Clintonville; 2 sons, Bill (Cheryl) Randl of Antigo, and David (Vanessa) Randl of Antigo; a stepdaughter, Pam (Dave) Paananen of Green Bay; a stepson, Jerry Meverden; 3 siblings, Joanne (Dennis) Kruger of Antigo, Thomas (Kathy) Mundl of Rib Mountain, and Tony (Denise) Mundl of Ohio; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-granchildren. In addition to his mother, Rose Mundl, he was preceded in death by a son, Rick Randl, and a granddaughter, Amanda Randl. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 Thursday at the church. Military honors provided by local veterans will follow the service.
