James Anton Seis, age 83, of Antigo joined his daughter Jayne Nousen in his heavenly home on her birthday, Tuesday, March 04, 2014. James was born on September 11, 1930 in Antigo to the late Frederick and Emma (Bohlman) Seis. On August 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to Helen Sikora at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for 48 years. James was a member of Ss. Mary and Hyacinth's Catholic Church and was a member of the Monsignor Conrad Saile Council 1002 Knights of Columbus. He attended Sunnyside Grade School in the Town of Rolling and went on to attend Antigo High School. He was an avid fisherman and treasured many hours fishing with his brother Ken and dear friend George. James cherished those times and loved to share stories of his outdoor adventures. He liked to gather with friends on a regular basis at Burger King to visit. Monday was the day of the week slated for visits with his brother Bill. He also enjoyed hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Most importantly, he loved his family. In addition to his wife, Helen, of 63 years, he is survived by 2 daughters, Suzy (Ken) Uttecht of Birnamwood, Joanne (David) Chrudimsky of Antigo, 2 sons, John (Julie) Seis of Antigo and Father Michael Seis of the Dominican Republic, a son-in-law Jon Nousen of Birnamwood, a sister Alice Kloes, a brother William Seis of Antigo, 4 sister-in-laws Frances Zimmerman of Antigo, Mary (Leonard) Wild of Antigo, Mary Ann Sikora of St. Cloud, WI and Arlene Sikora of Cudahy, WI, 13 grandchildren, Scott (Timmi) Uttecht, Amy (Arlen) Meverden, Luke (Amanda) Uttecht, Ryan (Sadie) Nousen, Chad (Shelly) Nousen, Aaron (Cheryl) Chrudimsky, Cory (Hillary) Chrudimsky, Casey (Heather) Chrudimsky, Sara Chrudimsky, Kimberly ( Sean) Goodwin, Eric (Rachel) Seis, Cale Seis, and Kyle Seis, 19 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by a daughter Jayne Nousen and 2 brothers, Ken and Ron Seis. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Ss. Mary & Hyacinth's Catholic Church. Father Michael Seis will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00PM until 8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 until the service at the church. There will be a wake service at 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Knights of Columbus Rosary to follow.
