Robert Samuel Schmitt

Robert Samuel Schmitt, age 68, passed away Friday Jan. 4, 2013 at Langlade Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Polar and Elton area and recently resided in Antigo. Robert was born Nov. 20, 1944 to the late Waldemar and Grace Schmitt. He was a 1964 graduate of Antigo High School. Survivors include 5 brothers, Peter of Antigo, Wayne of Waupaca, Kenneth of Green Bay, Paul (Brenda) of Manitowoc, Darrell (Lisa) of Sparta; 5 sisters, Rita (Thomas) Spencer of Waupaca, Beverly (William) Adkins of Manitowoc, Carol (Ronald) Cline of Antigo, Gail (George) Smallwood of Clarkson, KY, Janeane (Greg) Igl of Antigo; an aunt, LaVerne Muraski of Elton, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Vertz and Charlotte Schmitt; a brother Clarence; maternal grandparents James and Mary (Jones) Lambert; and paternal grandparents Peter and Minnie (Kieper) Schmitt. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Elton Cemetery.
