Anna Paige, formerly of Aniwa, died Thursday, December 27, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Eastview.. She was 96 years old. Anna was born on December 23, 1916 at home in Bryant, WI to the late Amos "Bub" and Rebecca (Conn) Crum. She was the 13th of 14 children. The family moved to Langlade County from Kentucky. They owned a small farm on Price-Polar Road in Bryant. Anna would walk to the Malcham Grade School, which she graduated from. She then remained at home caring for her ailing mother. Anna met and married Ralph Alvin Young on September 14, 1939, and the Congregational Church in Antigo. They operated a small dairy farm on County S near Moose Lake. Anna also worked at the nursing home in Antigo until Ralph preceded her in death in February of 1971. They had three children, Lyman, Phyllis, and Fay. She returned to working at the nursing home in Antigo. Anna later met Gilbert Paige and they were united in marriage August of 1975. They resided in Aniwa. Gil preceded her in death in July of 2000. Gil and Anna enjoyed taking trips and Anna loved working in her pretty flowers beds. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting scenes. She was a member of both Plox and Mattoon Home Makers Clubs for 50 years. Anna resided in Aniwa until ill health at which time she moved to Antigo to live with her daughter Phyllis. Survivors include a daughter, Fay Curran of Elcho, 5 grandchildren, Kevin Parks of Portland, OR, Renee Curran of Appleton, WI, Perry Curran of Greenville, WI, Patrick (Mary) Curran of Shawano,WI, and Mark (Davia) Curran of White Bear Lake, MN, 3 great grandchildren, Owen, Isaac and Aubrielle Curran, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and 2 husbands, Anna was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis Parks; her son, Lyman; a son-in-law Dean Curran; a granddaughter Laura Ann Parks; 7 brothers; 6 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 1:15 pm at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Rev. Patricia Tucker will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the service at the funeral home.
