Arlan Fred Summ

Arlan Fred Summ, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, has left this earth to be greeted by our Lord and Savior on February 14, 2026 at the age of 85. He was born on February 18, 1940, a son to the late Marcus and Mildred Summ. He married the love of his life, Donna (Pankratz) Summ on June 24, 1961 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where they were devoted members.

They worked together to own and operate their own dairy farm in Polar. He was a proud, long-standing member of St. Peter’s Men’s Club and served in many active roles at the church. He enjoyed many years of league bowling. He was a proud member of American Legion Auxiliary. Arlan served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Fort Louis, WA from 1961-1962. He was able to join the honor flight to Washington DC. Arlan enjoyed getting to know and share the family tree of many people from the area. Arlan and his wife raised four children.

He is survived by children; Cindy Summ of Wausau, Dale Summ (Lisa) of Antigo, and Sherry Skarlupka (Richard) of Antigo, daughter-in-law Rose Summ of Bryant. He was a grandfather of ten; Jennifer Summ, Wayne Summ (Michelle), Amanda Tatro (Brad), Tyler Summ (Jill), Melissa Andes (Corey), Preston Smith, Samantha Skarlupka, Jacob Skarlupka (Kirsten), Aaron Skarlupka (Beverly) Evan Skarlupka (Brittney) and great grandfather of 17; Hunter, Elayna, Devon, Brandon, Breanna, Braden, Zola, Owen, Adeline, Jack, George, Vincent, Harrison, Haddon, Heidi, Hazel, and Ezra. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Leon Summ (Judy) of Appleton and Milan Summ (Jan) of Madison, brothers-in-law; Keith Pankratz (Kathy) of Neenah, Tom Pankratz of Antigo, and Jim Arrowood of Neenah, sisters-in-law; Connie Jo Summ of Georgia and Candace Pankratz of Antigo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son Neal Summ, parents, wife’s parents, brother Hilton Summ, brothers-in-law; Jerry, Roger, Duwayne, and Tim Pankratz, sisters-in-law Beverly Summ and Marlene Arrowood.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 20 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial and military honors will follow the service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
