Barbara L. Carlson

Barbara L. Carlson, age 72, of Townsend died Sunday at her home under the care of Le Royer Hospice and her husband.Mrs. Carlson was born on March 14, 1939 in Antigo to the late Dewey and Gwendoline (Larzalere) Shannon. She graduated from White Lake High School in 1958.In August of 1961, Barbara married Bruce Carlson in Antigo. They lived in the area of Saukville, WI for 40 years. During that time Barbara was employed at Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington for 28 years. Upon retirement, she and Bruce moved to Townsend. In their retirement years, Barbara and Bruce enjoyed winter months in Mission, TX.Barbara enjoyed golfing, bowling and volunteering at the White Lake Historical Society.She was also a wonderful grandmother.Barbara was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Townsend.In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by a daughter Enid Serviss of Vienna, MO, a son Dewey (Qiao) Carlson of Port Washington, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, William (Jan) Shannon of White Lake and Pat (Leta) Shannon of Newport News, VA.Mrs. Carslon was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Townsend. Reverend Steven Mueller will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service at the church. Interment will be in the Townsend Cemetery.
