Bernadine Markelz

Bernadine Markelz died at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center on March 5, 2009.Bernadine was born August 23, 1922, in Larksville, PA to Laura and Bernard Bedosky. In 1944, Bernadine married Ralph Markelz in Camden, NJ. He preceded her in death in 1998.They moved to Sheboygan after Ralph's discharge from the US Coast Guard and raised three children.Bernadine was active with various organizations: Navy Mothers, Christian Mothers, Better Films Reviews, and others.In 1999, Bernadine moved to Elcho, WI, and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Pelican Lake. She is survived by three children, Lucy (John) Nelson of Pelican Lake, Ralph Markelz of Mountain Center, CA, and Michael B. Markelz of Sheboygan, WI; a sister, Rita (Dan) Paparoski of Merced, CA; two grandsons, John R. Nelson of Franklin, WI, and Ritchard S. Markelz of Temecula, CA; four great grandchildren, Isabella, Francesca, Samandra, and Patrick; along with nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her husband, Ralph, Bernadine was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michael A. Markelz, and Sylvia M. Markelz.Respecting Bernadine's wishes, a private memorial service for immediate family will be held for Bernadine and her husband Ralph.
