Bernice Banczak

Bernice Banczak passed away on December 29, 2023 at Homme Home, surrounded by her family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. She was 87 years old.

Bernice was born on May 6, 1936 in Antigo to the late John and Doreth (Fitch) Jones. On April 27, 1963, she was united in marriage to Jerry Banczak at St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church.

Bernice graduated from Antigo High School. She worked for Langlade Memorial Hospital in the laundry department.

Bernice enjoyed bowling, playing cards, shopping with her sister Gerri and Jeannie Darling, going out to eat, and time with her family, especially her grandson Joshua.

In addition to her husband, Bernice is survived by sons Craig Banczak of Antigo and Jeff (Kimberly) Banczak of Wausau, grandson Joshua (Ashley) Krueger of Pewaukee, great grandchildren: Colton and Kinsley, sister Marguerite “Peg” Wurtinger, and sister-in-laws Dolly Jones and Lois (Jim) MacDonald.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by brothers Ervin Jones and Willis Jones , sisters Lucille (Harland) Van Ooyen and Geraldine “Gerri” (Richard) Hoerman, and brother-in-law Jack Wurtinger.

In accordance with Bernice’s wishes, no services will be held.
