Bertha Parizek

Bertha V. Parizek, 97, died February 9, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. She was a resident at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, WI.She was born April 11, 1913 in Parrish, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Wright) Brendemihl. She attended the Parrish School.On August 29, 1941 she married Paul Parizek at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death in 1970. They lived in Chicago and Rhinelander before moving to Gleason. She worked numerous jobs in Chicago, and was a housekeeper for resorts in Woodruff. She worked for 19 years at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Merrill.She enjoyed playing cards, flower gardening, feeding the birds, her dog Lassie, and spending time with her grandchildren. During her time at Pine Crest, she liked doing word puzzles and playing bingo.Mrs. Parizek was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason. She enjoyed helping at the harvest dinner.She is survived by 2 sons, Daniel (Jean) Parizek and Eugene Parizek, both of Gleason; 4 grandchildren, Brenda (Scott) Fleming, Randall Parizek, Brian Parizek, and Michael (Katie) Parizek; 3 great grandchildren, Cody Parizek, Zakery Fleming, and Cortney Fleming; and nieces and newphews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul E. Parizek; 3 sisters, Mae Manneck, Pearl Oldenburg, Violet Brendemihl; 5 brothers, Leslie, Ralph, Floyd, Wayne, and LaVerne Brendemihl; a grandson, Ronald Parizek; and a daughter in law, Karen Parizek.
