Betty Lindner

Betty Lindner, age 83, of Antigo died Sunday at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was born on March 13, 1929 to the late Joseph and Mary (Stasek) Kakes. She married Herbert Lindner on October 22, 1955 in Milwaukee. Mrs. Lindner was raised in Antigo and graduated from Antigo High School in 1946. She then moved to Milwaukee. She and her husband later lived in St. Francis where they raised their family. In 1991, upon retirement, they moved to Antigo. Mrs. Lindner was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Antigo, where she enjoyed volunteering her secretarial skills. She was a devoted Christian woman. She also enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and playing cards, and was an avid spectator at her grandchildren's sporting events. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Keith (Beth) Lindner of Antigo and Jeff (Donna) Lindner of Oak Creek, 4 grandchildren, Amy, Alison, Kimberly, and Joshua and 3 great grandchildren Conner, Jacob, and Bella, a sister Edna Curtis of Milwaukee, and 2 brothers, Eugene (Lois) Kakes of Antigo and Robert (Ethel) Kakes of Antigo. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters Lillian Kakes, Alice Neurer, Carol Pellman, and Evelyn Turznik and a brother Melvin Kakes. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30am at Ascension Lutheran Church. Reverend Michael Spaude will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and Thursday at the church from 9:30am until the service at the church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial will be established in Mrs. Lindner's name.
