Betty Sue Macintosh

Betty Sue MacIntosh, age 73, of Lakewood, WI died Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Melbourne, FL.

Betty was born November 8, 1949 in Antigo to the late Edward John and Eleanor Cecelia (Tatro) Doucha. She was united in marriage to Robert Bruce MacIntosh on August 12, 1972 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He survives and resides in Lakewood.

Betty attended St. John Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1968. She went on to begin a career in the medical and healthcare profession, taking courses to complete her medical assistant certification. She was employed at the Antigo General Clinic. During this time she worked toward earning her degree as a registered nurse. She went on to practice in various areas of nursing including cardiac rehabilitation and smoking cessation training at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She had a great passion for caring for others and she enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, retiring in 2021.

In the early years of Bob and Betty’s marriage, the couple resided in Antigo. They also lived in Weston for several years until making Lakewood their permanent home in 1998. They also enjoyed traveling to many places and winter months in Melbourne Beach, FL. Betty enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino and getting together with friends.

Betty is survived by her husband Bob and many dear friends including Peggy Simon and Lynn (Iverson) Gornto.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Jerry “JD” Doucha and an infant sister.

A celebration of Betty’s life and services will be planned for late spring.
