Beverly J. Kaplanek

Beverly Jean Kaplanek died June 18, 2012 at Langlade Hospital in Antigo at the age of 83. She was born March 25, 1929 in Antigo; the daughter of Laddie and Edna (McCann) Schwartz. On September 18, 1948 she married Raymond Kaplanek in Antigo. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1980. Mrs. Kaplanek graduated with the class of 1947 Antigo High School. She worked at Fidelity Bank from 1947 to 1954. From 1968 to 1990 she was bookkeeper at Antigo Flour & Feed & Hunter's Supermarket. She was a lifelong resident of Antigo. She enjoyed dancing and playing sports in her younger years. Mrs. Kaplanek liked singing, fishing, baking, crafting, painting and gardening. She was an avid fan of the Packers and Brewers, liking to watch their games. Most of all she loved her family and being with them. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Tom) Dakin, Appleton, a son, Randy (Penny) Kaplanek of Aniwa; daughter-in-law,Cherie (Charles) LaHam, Rhinelander; three grandchildren, Casey Kaplanek, Rhinelander, Dustin Dakin, Appleton, and Cody Kaplanek, Aniwa; sister-in-law, Bev Schwartz, Appleton and Brother-in-law, Billie Bussert, Elcho. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Corky", brothers, Laddie "Bud" Schwartz, Jerry Schwartz, sister, Faye and her husband George Schleinz and infant sister Sally. A funeral service will be held at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Friday, June 22. Father Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery. It is with broken hearts that we say farewell to our mom and grandma….we will miss her dearly yet we will cherish the memories and love that she gave to us.
