Beverly Jane Halama passed away peacefully in the presence of family on September 29, 2024 at Eastview Health And Rehabilitation Center under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 87 years old.
Bev was born in Antigo on August 21, 1937 to the late Henry and Viola (Mosher) Halama. She graduated from Antigo High School, class of 1955. During her high school years, she enjoyed basketball and cheerleading. Later in life she continued her education and graduated from the North Central Technical College clerk typist program. She worked as a clerical assistant at City Hall. Bev was a hard worker and also cleaned homes, bartended, and worked for Antigo Cannery.
Bev loved crocheting, taking trips to the lake, sitting by the campfire, and watching birds and squirrels from her window. She also enjoyed walks on the boardwalk. She was an avid Packer fan. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family. She treasured and kept every card and letter she received from her family.
Bev is survived by children; Kim (David) Mentzel of Ogdensberg, Michael Steinfest (special friend Dawn) of Waupaca, Todd (Deb) Steinfest of Wausau, and Marc Steinfest of Aniwa, grandchildren; Shane (Jennifer), Stephanie (Chad), Melanie (Nate), Christopher (Alison), Laura (Cody) Kenny, Charlie, Suzie, Trayce (Matt), Christi (Bogdan), great grandchildren; Corey, Cameron, Elizabeth, Morgan, Karl, Helen, Ruth, Sylvia, Mick, Zachary, Chloe, Gunner, Lydia, Tyler, Emmy, and Hayden, a great great grandchild; Odin, niece; Randi, and nephews; Rick, Steve, and Shane.
In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by sisters Vivian Thomas and Janet Curtis.
A memorial service for Bev will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church, 414 Eckert Street, Antigo. Visitation will take at the church, prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
