Beverly Jean Reid of Summit Lake, formerly of the Chicago area, passed away on January 16, 2026 under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 86 years old.
Bev was born on December 24, 1939 in Villa Park, IL to the late George and Katherine (Bourbonnais) Hallam. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Reid on February 21, 1959. The couple moved to Antigo in August of 1974. Larry preceded her in death on July 30, 2020.
Bev worked as a clerk for several businesses in town including Toburen’s, Hunter’s, and Copps. She had a passion and a talent for bowling. Bev was an avid sports fan. She often had a rerun on the TV, but especially loved the Green Bay Packers. She was so dedicated to deer hunting that her thanksgiving meal would often be popcorn. Bev loved the outdoors and loved to have fun. She enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and four-wheeling.
Bev is survived by sons David (Sandy) Reid of Birnamwood and James (Gail) Reid of Green Bay, 11 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bev was preceded in death by a son Robert Reid, step grandson Bill DeHart, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
A funeral service for Bev will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Elcho with Reverend Paul Radke officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM as well as Wednesday evening at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Summit Lake.
