Bonnie Lee Strasser

Bonnie Lee Strasser of Antigo, passed away on July 26, 2024 at home, surrounded by family, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 86 years old.

Bonnie was born on April 2, 1938 in Madison to the late Edward and Ingebor (Grinde) Worringer. Bonnie grew up in Lodi, WI where she also married Richard “Dick” Strasser on November 26, 1960. He survives.

She graduated from Lodi High School, class of 1956 and went on to study at the Deaconess Hospital Nursing Program in Milwaukee. She worked as a registered nurse for the UW Hospital in Madison and then Tomahawk Sacred Heart Hospital. She retired from Eastview after working there for 26 years in staff development.

Bonnie was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church. There, she was a Sunday school teacher, council member, and choir participant. She loved reading, playing cards, and golfing. She also enjoyed music, whether that be listening or playing piano or clarinet in the community band. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Bonnie is survived by daughters; Karin Wanke (James Langlois) of Merrill and Susan (Michael) Zelinski of Antigo; son Tim (Angie) Strasser of Gladstone, MI, sister; Patricia (Roger) Sween of St. Paul, MN, grandchildren; Stephanie (Daniel) Kurtzweil, Katie (Daniel) Cunningham, Samantha Strasser, Sadie Strasser, and Cole Maxted “Max” (Stacey) Strasser, and great grandchildren; Beau, Wade, Mara, Lee, Nora, Paisley, Miles, Daxton, Gunner, and Gannon.

A celebration of life for Bonnie will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Antigo. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
