Bonnie Lee Palmer

Bonnie Joyce Palmer, age 86, passed away on June 23, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, with her children by her side.

Bonnie was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, on October 10, 1938, to the late Edward and Joyce (Eisenman) Lass. On March 9, 1957, she married the love of her life, Arthur Lee Palmer, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

After graduating from Elcho High School, Bonnie trained as a legal secretary but soon discovered her true calling in childhood education. She spent many years teaching in the Slinger School District and served as a reading specialist during the summers in Ashland. Bonnie later completed her teaching career in the Crandon School District before retiring. Her passion for teaching and reading continued well into retirement, whether through storytelling with her grandchildren or being read to by her great-grandchildren.

Family meant everything to Bonnie. Despite the distance, she and Art faithfully hosted their grandchildren every summer in Wisconsin’s Northwoods for a special tradition they lovingly called “Camp Palmer.” These weeks were filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

The only thing greater than Bonnie’s love for her family was her love for the Lord. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to Art for time and all eternity on their anniversary, March 9, 2024.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter Christine (William) Wolski and her son Scott Palmer; grandchildren Erica (Toby) McCalister, Amanda (Nick) Otis, Kristel (Brett) Welzien, Michelle (Scott) Lasky, Marissa Wolski, Jourdan (Max) Crawford, Nicholas Palmer, Benjamin Palmer, and Noah Palmer; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Elcho Cemetery.
