Brenda Joyce Messer, age 72, of Bryant, passed away on December 19, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Brenda was born on January 22, 1952 in Zion, IL to the late Clifford and Dixie Lorraine (Whitt) Messer. She graduated from Mosinee High School and went on to attend North Central Technical College. She worked as a counselor for Lincoln Hills Correctional Institute. She also worked as a manager for Buettner’s Motel on Wolf.
Brenda’s unwavering faith was the foundation of her life. She lived every day with a deep devotion to God, carrying out his work through her ministry, touching lives from Mexico to Canada and beyond. She dedicated herself to leading young couples’ groups and youth groups. She was known as a powerful prayer warrior. When Brenda was unable to leave her home, she found ways to minister and connect to people online. Brenda had a passion for learning, especially for understanding the deeper meanings of scripture by studying Hebrew.
Brenda is survived by a sister Sue (Tim) Wilson of Nevis, MN, brothers Marty (Chris) Messer of Bryant and Brian Messer of White Lake, sisters-in-law Jill Messer of Antigo and Rita Messer of Neenah, best friend, cousin, and caregiver Ruth Pranke, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Brad and Ron Messer, and sister-in-law Lynn Messer.
A memorial service for Brenda will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Four Corners Assembly of God with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
