Byrdeana "Birdie" Meade

Byrdeana Rea Meade (Birdie) passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 2nd, 2023, at the age of 80. Birdie was born on December 12, 1942 to John and Mildred (Snow) Janis in Chicago Illinois.

She spent her younger years keeping busy, mainly in the restaurant business. She spent many years managing Whitney Street in GraysLake, IL. When not working, she spent her time with her children and best friends; Barb, Nit and Tina. Later in life, she found herself in Wabeno, WI where she frequented the bingo hall and casino. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and taking them go karting and horseback riding. She also enjoyed playing the slots and doing scratch off tickets “scratchies.”

Birdie is survived by her daughters; Lena Hoeldt, Shelly (Glenn) Harrison, brother; Jack (PK) Janis, Grandchildren; Christina Bracero, David Vanderspool, Savannah Peotter, Amanda Hoeldt, Sarah Harrison, Nathan Beyer and Michael Harrison. She also had 11 great grandchildren; Mason, Jayda, Chase. Alaina, Hailey, Cali, Chloe, Madilynn, Brayden, Colt and Skylar.

Birdie is preceded in death by her parents; John Janis and Mildred Goetsch, sister; Dolores Janis, infant son; Johnny Lee and daughter Delora.

In accordance to Birdie’s request and wishes, no services will be held.

We know that Birdie will be gracing the big bingo hall in the sky.
