Carley Mae Fronek

Carley Mae Fronek, passed away to join her husband Ray in heaven on December 19, 2021 in Lake Mills, WI at the age of 97. Carley was born on May 8, 1924 in St. Paul, MN to the late Jesse and Attie (Nelson) Bovee. On January 1, 1944, Carley was united in marriage to Raymond Fronek in St Paul. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2000. Carley was a dedicated homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for the Unified School District of Antigo and managed the finances for the farm in addition to helping with all the chores. She was a determined and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and loved quilting with her quilting group making quilts for the less fortunate worldwide. She was also an active member of the Ackley Election board. After retirement she volunteered at the local grade schools reading to the students. She was also a volunteer at the Langlade County hospital. With her spare time she would endlessly knit and read while waiting for Ray to catch fish. Carley is survived by sons; Timothy (Laurel) Fronek of Benicia, CA, Martin (Cheryl) Fronek of Stevens Point, Richard (Diane) Fronek of Lake Mills, and Vernon (Lori) Fronek of Endicott, NY, sister Connie Gotthilf of Minneapolis, brother Gene (Nancy) Bovee of St. Paul, grandchildren; Christopher, Alissa, Jesse, Erin, Johanna, Andrew, Anthony, and Nicholas, great grandchildren; Laurel, Catherine “Cat”, Martin, Catalina, Levi and Colton. In addition to her parents and husband, Carley was preceded in death by sisters Arlene, Lois and Bonnie, brothers Vernon and Wayne, and granddaughter Katrina. A memorial service for Carley will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church with Vicar Jennifer Sosinski officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place on a later date at Bohemian National Cemetery in Antigo. The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend on Strasser-Roller Funeral Home’s Facebook page. After the service is complete, it will then be published on the funeral home’s website under Carley’s Obituary. Memorials in honor of Carley Fronek may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Raptor Education Group Inc. (REGI) or Heartland Hospice. At the request of the family and for the consideration of those in attendance, those who are attending will be asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
