Carol Ann Walters, age 89, of White Lake, passed away on February 27, 2024 at Marshfield Clinic Hospital.
Carol was born on October 26, 1934 in Pickerel to the late William and Mary (Schoenberger) Knoble.
She was a graduate of White Lake High School class of 1953. She then moved to Green Bay where she was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in the obstetrics unit as nursing assistant for two years.
She returned to White Lake and was united in marriage to Robert Walters on April 29, 1961. Robert passed away in 2014. The couple owned and operated Bob & Carol’s Northern Lights, having purchased it from Bob’s parents, Ivan and Minnie Walters. The tavern was known for being home to Gentle Ben. Carol later owned and operated Golden Touch in Langlade.
Carol was an exceptional cook and baker, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, dancing, doing puzzles and playing cards. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and was a true animal lover, often watching her son’s dog, Winston. She loved to listen to her grandson Bear, perform in his band, Dead Man. Her family was certainly her greatest treasure and she loved time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her two daughters: Renee (Don) Skarlupka of Clintonville, Laurie Walters of White Lake, a son Rick Walters of White Lake, six grandchildren: Jennifer (Cory) Reetz, Sarah (Michael) Rolnecki, Bruce (Kelly) Skarlupka, Mike (Claire) Skarlupka, Daniel (Hazel) Skarlupka, Bear Bordeau (Ashlyn), 11 great grandchildren: Theoden, Zander, Greyson, Bradley, Dedric, Vivianna, Bianca, Julia, Lexi, Oliver, Michael, Jaydin, Jack Daniel, Zana and Riley. She is further survived by a brother Tom Knoble of Pickerel, brothers-in-law: Jim Berry of Clintonville and Don Sharron of Florida, a sister-in-law Marilyn Walters of Polar, and special friend Kris Kielcheski and her beloved cat Noelle.
Carol was preceded in death by a sisters Arline Knoble and Marge Krause, a great granddaughter Avalon Reetz, brothers-in-law: Dick Krause, Bill Walters, Larry Walters, LaVerne ”Sonny” Walters, and sisters-in-law: Bonnie Sharron, Elaine Berry, and Beverly Walters, and her beloved dog Coco Walters.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 2:30 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Hoffmann will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 12 noon until the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Langlade Cemetery. A celebration of Carol's life will also be held at a later date.
Carol was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
