On April 24, 2021, God called Carol Fronek to spend her birthday in heaven following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol was 75 years old and was under the care of her family, friends, and LeRoyer Hospice. Carol was born on April 25, 1945 to the late Walter and Frances (Holmberg) Locke in Antigo. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1963. On August 15, 1964 Carol was united in marriage to Phil Fronek at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar. Carol went on to work at Plaspack. She was known for her creativity, whether it came to creating floral arrangements or baking beautiful wedding cakes. She was a talented cook. Carol also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables. She was also an animal lover and was also involved in Triple R riding club. In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by nieces and nephews; Bill and Donna Locke of Fort Myers, Linda and Jim Elst of Oconomowoc, and Tom and Sandy Locke of Bryant, her lifelong friend; Judy Smith as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews on Phil’s side of the family. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Locke. A funeral service for Carol will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place at the church prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Following the service, burial will take place at Bent Cemetery in Bryant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran School in Carol’s name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Liz Voss and Nicole Novak of LeRoyer Hospice.
