Carol Jean Strasser

Carol Jean Strasser "Jeannie" passed away on May 10, 2026 surrounded by family, under the care of Tomah Health Hospice Touch. She was 94 years old.

Jeannie was born on February 5, 1932 in Elmhurst, WI, daughter of Louie and Lena (Timm) Zwirschitz. She graduated from Antigo High School class of 1950. On August 8, 1951 Jeannie married Arthur Junior Strasser in Aniwa, WI.

Jeannie was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She actively volunteered at the church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Jeannie and Art both enjoyed going to Florida for the winter to get out of the cold.

She tied flies for Sheldon's/Mepps for many years along with working at Langlade Abstract.

In addition to her husband, Jeannie is survived by daughter Sandy (Roger) Mortensen of New Lisbon, WI, son Randy Strasser, Cottage Grove, WI, 6 grandchildren, Heather (Ted) Boylan of Chicago, Derek (Teresa) Mortensen of Oconomowoc, Amanda (Matt) McQueen of Poynette, Ryan (Marie) Strasser of New Berlin, Anna (Bryce) Ryan of Poynette and Alysa Strasser of Lodi; 11 great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Perkins of West Allis, WI.

In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Piper Rose Mortensen and sister Joan Lenzner. We would also like to thank all the staff at Crestview Nursing Home in New Lisbon for the wonderful care they have given mom.

A funeral service for Jeannie will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:30am at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor David Karolus officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00am to 11:30am. Burial will be held at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery.
