Jan 8, 1933 — Aug 3, 2026

Carole Jean Brandow of Antigo passed away on August 3, 2026, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. She was 93 years old.

Carole was born on January 8, 1933 in Antigo to the late Wilton and Mary (Krugel) Knapp. She was united in marriage to Ralph Brandow in 1953 at St. John's parsonage. He preceded her in death in January of 1991.

Carole graduated from Antigo High School, class of 1951. She went on to work as a pharmacy technician for Oaks Drugstore and then Lakeside Pharmacy, until her retirement at the age of 86.

Growing up, Carole enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Post Lake and later enjoyed taking her children there as well. She loved playing cards and played in several bridge clubs. Carole especially loved beating her grandchildren in a game of cards. She also enjoyed reading, camping, and golfing in both ladies' and couples' leagues. Carole was known for not only cheering on her kids at their sporting events but for being the mom and grandma to bring all the kids and their friends to their activities.

Carole was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by children Gayle (Peter) Townsend of Colfax, Kurt Brandow of Albuquerque, NM, and David (Dawn) Brandow of Antigo, a brother Richard (Jewel) Knapp of Omaha, NE, 13 grandchildren David, Emily, Jamie, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Joshua, Caleb, Jodie, Abby, Erin, Will, Brooke, and Colton, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Ann Drake.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 10 at noon at St. John Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM in Hoffmann Hall at St. John Catholic Church. Father Michael Theil and Father Charles Hoffmann will officiate.

Per special request from Carole, all in attendance are asked to wear their favorite sweatshirt and jeans.
