Carroll Combs

Carroll Combs, lifelong Elton resident, passed away on January 27, 2024 at the age of 91. He was under the loving care of his family, Care Partners, and LeRoyer Hospice. He was united in marriage to Judith Pennington on September 1, 1956 in Antigo. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2002.

Carroll "Dooner" was born in Elton on April 10, 1932 to the late William and Nettie (Gee) Combs. Carroll attended Elton Grade School and White Lake High School. He went on to work as a laborer at Robbins Corp. He also served as a deputy for Langlade County Sherrif Department in the 1960's.

Carroll served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Four Corners Assembly of God. Carroll lived his life devoted to God and his family. He was a quiet man with the biggest heart. He was happiest at the homestead in Elton surrounded by his wife and family.

Carroll is survived by daughters Catherine Combs of Antigo and Amy-Sue LeMonds (Jerry Valley) of Menomonee Falls, son Kevin (Cheri) Combs of Rothschild, grandchildren Ryan Frahm, Brad Frahm, Kendra Lee (Joel) Pergolski, and Lindsey-Lee LeMonds, and great grandchildren Gavin Frahm, Garrett Frahm, Brooks Pergolski, and Colsen Pergolski.

In addition to his wife and parents, Carroll was preceded in death by brothers Lee, Earl, and Bill and sister Helen Carpenter.

A funeral service for Carroll will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Four Corners Assembly of God. Visitation will take place at the church prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Military Honors will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place on a later date at Elton Cemetery.
