Catherine Ann “Cathy”, Roth age 91, of Antigo died on June 3, 2023, at her home under the care of her family, RN Jenny Smith, and LeRoyer Hospice.
She was born on October 1, 1931 in New York, NY, the daughter of the late Francis and Olga (Bischoff) Roth.
Cathy attended Washington Irving High School and went on to complete her nursing degree at Flushing Hospital in 1952. Cathy was united in marriage to Earl Roth, MD on January 15, 1955, at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church in Woodside, New York. Cathy and Earl resided in Bethesda, MD, until 1958 and then Galveston, TX until 1962 when they moved to Antigo, WI. Cathy showed her dedication to the community through many volunteer roles, including hospice care, Meals on Wheels, and the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was politically active and was appointed by Congressman Toby Roth to the nomination committee for candidates to military universities.
Cathy and Earl raised their five children with a love a music, as they were avid opera fans and made many trips to the Lyric Opera House of Chicago. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, golfing and skiing and time at Bass Lake entertaining and being with family. Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a woman of great style and grace. Her witty sense of humor and seemingly endless amounts of energy would light up a room like no other.
Cathy is survived by her children: Kirsten Ann (Steve) Hein; Katrina Maria (Chris) Korbisch, Inga Liu (David Fauerbach) Roth; Walter Conrad (Jessica) Roth; Earl John (Carrie) Roth, and her grandchildren: Raina Ellefson; Andy Hein; Camille Torabpour ; Anthony Wissbroecker; Tristan Arndt; Tatiana Arndt-Braden; Rachel Kennedy; Colin Kennedy; Brevid Roth; Rylee Roth; and Zachary Roth. She is further survived by her brothers Franklyn (Joyce) Roth and Robert (Maddy) Roth, sister-in-law Evelyn Roth, and many nieces and nephews.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brother-in-law Marlyn and Edward Lavan, and brother Thomas Roth.
A memorial service will be on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Jennifer Sosinski officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at North Star, 400 Prosser Place, Antigo.
