Charles "Charlie" H. Below

Charles "Charlie" H. Below, age 94, of Antigo died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. Chuck was born on September 23, 1925 in Antigo to the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Gallion) Below. He was united in marriage to Maxine Weber on August 11, 1948 in Crandon. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2002. Chuck was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1944. He served in the US Army in the Army Infantry and later in the Air Force as a medic during World War II. He then returned to Antigo, where he worked as a supervisor at Kraft. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Survivors include a daughter Amy Below of Antigo; 3 sons, Charles "Chuck" B. (Mary) Below of Antigo, Steven Below of Elcho and Scott (Kelly) Below of Antigo. He is also survived by his brother Jule Below of Alabama; 4 grandsons, Matt Below of Seattle, WA, Mitchell (Molly) Below of Kronenwetter, Christopher (Ashley) Below of Summit Lake, and Justin (Alaina) Below of Antigo; and 2 great-grandchildren, Riley and Ada. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by 2 brothers; David and Kenneth Below, 3 sisters; Evelyn Piskula, Elizabeth "Betsy" Below, Doris Kryka and a great grandchild Loretta Below. In accordance with Charles' wishes no services will be held. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
