Clarence Fred “Butch” Duchac, age 77 of Antigo, went to meet his Lord on January 12, 2021. Butch passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home in Antigo surrounded by his loving wife of over 50 years, children and family members. Butch was born on June 2, 1943 to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Heckert) Duchac in Beloit, Wisconsin. Butch was the oldest of ten siblings and grew up on the family dairy farm in Antigo. The family relocated to Milwaukee when Butch was about 15 years old. He attended Milwaukee Boy’s Technical and Trade High School.In 1960, Butch enlisted in the United States Army. Butch served as a combat engineer and endured through two tours of duty in Vietnam and Korea. Butch received an honorable dischargein 1969 after nearly 9 years of sacrifice to our nation. Butch left the Army as an E-6 Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Army Commendation and Good Conduct, National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign medals. Butch enjoyed a long career as a union mechanic and semi-truck driver for Barry Trucking in Milwaukee. Upon retirement, he returned to his childhood home in Antigo, where he was a school bus driver and enjoyed all of his relationships at Crestwood Elementary. Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, making maple syrup and spending time with family at the Duchac farm.Survivors include his loving wife Suzanne, whom he married on August 1, 1970; children: Jennifer Duchac, Clarence (Maria) Duchac III, Nicole (Jorge) Romero, Cheryl Duchac and Dawn (Jim) Selostok; grandchildren: Daniel, Rebecca, Suzanne, Gabriela, Clarence IV, Cameron, Alex and Chase; great-grandchildren: Liam and Anthony; siblings: Larry (Kathy) Duchac, Ronald (Sandy) Duchac, Gail (Jim) Dietzler, Suzan Murdock, Cindy (Ron) Hoff, Perry (Amy) Duchac, Jeff (Judy) Duchac, Martha Pontel and sister-in-law Sherry Duchac.In addition to his parents, Clarence and Dorothy, Butch was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Duchac and brother-in-law Pat Pontel, Jr.A celebration of Butch’s life will be held at the Duchac Farm on June 5, 2021.Our family would like to thank Dr. Maria Delgado, Dr. Ubaid Nawaz and all of the caregivers at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and Vince Lombardi Cancer Center for 6 plus years of amazing care, and his sister Martha Pontel and niece Marie Dietzler for their care during hospice.
