Clarice M. Barnes

Clarice Marie Barnes of Deerbrook died at Langlade Hospital on March 31, 2014. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Barnes was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Wabeno, daughter of the late William and Josephine (Whitefish) Bodoh. She graduated from Wabeno High School. On Oct. 25, 1947 she married Forest Barnes in Milwaukee. She was employed at AT&T in Milwaukee, and after retirement she moved to Deerbrook. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Ann (Steven Gallmore) Barnes; a son, Robin S. Barnes of Milwaukee; a sister, Pauline Oehlers of Milwaukee; 4 grandchildren, Marisa Burke of Milwaukee, Emily Burke of Abrams, Harper Burke of Oconto, and Willow Burke of Oconto; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gianna Scaffidi, Antonio Scaffidi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Jean Burke; 2 sisters, Louise and Marilyn; and 2 brothers, Leroy and William. Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 Monday at the funeral home.
