Dale Earl Vaughn, of Antigo, died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a result of complications due to exposure to Agent Orange while serving in the US Army. He was 71 years old. He was born April 28, 1948 in Wausau, son of the late Earl and Margaret (Clauss) Vaughn. He married Susan Robinson on September 7, 1974, and she survives. Mr. Vaughn grew up in Hatley, and attended DC Everest High School. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the US Army from 1968-1970. He loved his nation, and was truly proud of his military service. Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Noetzelman-Boodry Post #377 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the 40 et 8 Voiture #1204. Dale was a devoted husband. He adored his children and grandchildren. He loved watching the Packers and Brewers, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Katie Clay (Rodney Gatton) of Antigo; 3 sons, Aaron (Amber) Vaughn of Oshkosh, Ryan Vaughn, Sr. of Green Bay, and James Vaughn of Shawnee, KS; 6 grandsons, Kyle and Keith Clay, and Ryan, Jr., Dylan, Landon, and Anakin Vaughn; 2 sisters, Roberta Halkoski of Wausau, and Audrey Buchkowski of Hatley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Arya Vaughn, daughter of Aaron and Amber; 3 sisters, Jeanette Janakowski, Norma Brenden, and Sharon Stead; and 3 brothers, Jackie, Keith, and Jerry Vaughn. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Father Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-12:00 Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites provided by Elcho veterans will follow the service.
