Dale Edward Vacha, age 72, of Antigo died Thursday, February 3, 2022 at The Hospice House in Wausau under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Dale was born on September 21, 1949 in Antigo to the late Robert and Gladys (Stasek) Vacha. Dale was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1967. On April 24, 1971, Dale was united in marriage to Kathleen Packard at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives and resides in Antigo. Dale worked as a service technician for Hill-Rom in Tulsa, OK, Madison, and Wausau. He then worked for Greenheck in Wausau and finished his working days as a school bus driver for Malliette Bus Company. Dale enjoyed hunting, bowling, fishing, and was a fishing guide in Ontario, Canada. He was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader in Tulsa, OK and in Weston, WI. Survivors in addition to his wife, Kathy include his children: Kate (Matt) Whitmore of Atlanta, GA and Dale “DJ” (Kim) Vacha, Jr. of Madison, WI, four grandchildren: Camron, Grant, Miles, Nolan, a brother Jerry (Gladys) Vacha of Antigo, and a sister-in-law Helen Vacha. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a brother Bob Vacha. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church. Father George Daniel will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the service.
