Dale M. Belott

Dale Myron Belott, of the Town of Neva, died at home Sunday March 17, 2013 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was born July 2, 1938 in Antigo, son of the late William and Anna (Carlson) Belott. He married Marilyn Fischer on Aug. 30, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel. Mr. Belott was a graduate of Antigo High School. He was employed as a machinist at Falk Corporation in Milwaukee. He also worked at Frost Veneer Mill in Antigo, and operated a potato and dairy farm in Bryant. He enjoyed life, especially playing cards, shaking dice, hunting, fishing, driving tractor, and family gatherings. He will be remembered meeting up with his neighbors at local establishments, where he was known to many as the "mayor" of Bryant. Farming was particularly important to him. His family knew how he loved wheeling and dealing for new trucks and farm machinery. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Marilyn Belott, include 3 daughters, Karen (Thomas) Mach of Antigo, Cindy (Kirk) Lewis of Antigo, and Sheila (Joseph) Mattek, of Deerbrook; 2 sons, Todd (Pamela) Belott of Antigo, and Kevin (Cheryl) Belott, of Bryant; 3 sisters, Margaret Benson of Antigo, Wilma (Anthony) Weber of Antigo, and Mildred Ditmeyer of Virginia; brother-in-law Carl Thiede of Bryant; 8 grandchildren, Tabitha (Andy) Kelley, Amanda (Peter) Orne, Trisha (Omar) Sey, Colton Belott, Jordan Mach, Tyler Belott, Kylee Belott, and Laurissa Belott; 4 step-grandchildren, Joshua (Anita) Mattek, Corey Mattek, Mitchell Mattek, and Kyle Mattek; 4 great-grandchildren, Camia Kelley, Nahalina Kelley, Malachi Kelley, and Henry Orne; and his good friend, Dennis Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vern Belott; a sister, Marilyn Thiede; and a brother-in-law, Charles Ditmeyer. A memorial Mass will take place at 11:30am Thursday at St. Wencel's Catholic Church in Neva, with Fr. Dave Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 Thursday at the church.
