Daniel "Dan" Berndt

Daniel "Dan" Berndt, known as Popeye by friends and family, passed away on August 15, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice. Dan was born on May 4, 1958 in Antigo to the late Lauren and Susan (Boettcher) Berndt. He attended high school and went on to truck driving school to work as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wrestling on Monday and Friday nights. He took interest in many other hobbies as well. He had a great love for his cat and also enjoyed spending time watching the birds. Dan is survived by a son Loren Berndt, stepchildren Corey Brown and Shelly Brown, siblings Lorrie Lynett, Tina Peschke, Christine Meyer, Candy Pierchalski, Sonja Boyd, Dean Berndt, and Lisa Prittchet, granddaughter Abigail Rosia, and great granddaughters Raylynn and Ravahnnah, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a sister Connie Raab and nephew Mark James. A visitation for Dan will take place on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
