Daniel John Meverden

Daniel John Meverden, age 62, of Birnamwood died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston surrounded by his family. Danny was born on December 23, 1953 to the late Everett and Priscilla (Spaulding) Meverden in Antigo. He attended Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. Danny worked for Cousineau Auto and was later self-employed as an auto mechanic, owning Dan's Repair in Birnamwood. He enjoyed car shows, off road races, flagging at the Crandon Off Road Races, working on his cars, and joking around. Danny is survived by 3 daughters, Brandy (Dan) Potts of Deerbrook, Christine Meverden of Weston, Jenna Verstoppen of Mattoon, a son Jerry Meverden of Antigo, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a sister, Debra Meverden, 3 brothers, Dale Meverden of Birnamwood, Dean "Whitey" (Dawn) Meverden of Wittenberg, Don (Betsy) Meverden of Menasha, many nieces and nephews and their families, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a brother Doug Meverden. A memorial gathering and car show will be held on September 24, 2016 at the Matsche Center, 362 Railroad St, Birnamwood from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. In honor of Danny, you are encouraged to bring your collector car, hot rods, muscle car, and the like.
