Daniel Paul Tappa

Daniel Paul Tappa, lifelong Elcho resident, died at his home on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the age of 65. He was born in Antigo, son of the late Ellsworth and Katherine (Pollock) Tappa. He married Betty Jane Rajnicek 45 years ago on October 14, 1967 at the United Church of Christ in Elcho. Daniel graduated from Elcho High School, and served in the US Air Force. He was employed in the airline industry for over 40 years. He resided in many places but always called Elcho home. He was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Elcho and the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon, OK. He also was a 32nd degree Mason with Lodge 318 in Mosinee, a member of the Deputy Sheriff's Association, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and a Ducks Unlimited committee chair and volunteer. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by his two daughters, Mary Katherine (Darrell) Hudson of Broken Arrow, OK, and Terri Ann (Jon) Scott of Oklahoma City, OK; a granddaughter, Molly Sue Hudson of Broken Arrow, OK; and two aunts, Audrey Kubiaczyk of Elcho, and Phyllis Neudorff of Rhinelander. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Douglas, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the United Church of Christ in Elcho. Visitation will be 10-11 at the church. Burial will follow the service at Elcho Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Elcho. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
