Daniel Ray Strasser, age 57 of Gatewood, MO died December 7 at his home of heart disease. Daniel was born June 16, 1951 in Antigo to Norma (Wolters) Strasser of Antigo and the late Leland M. Strasser.He married Pauleeta "Dee" Thomas in October of 1975 in Cicero, IL. She survives and resides in Gatewood, MO. A graduate of J. Sterling Morton High School East, class of 1970, Daniel also played football there. Mr. Strasser worked as a Special Investigator for Burlington Northern Railroad. He was an over the road truck driver, owning and operating his own truck. He and his wife later owned and operated "D & D's" One Stop Restaurant. Mr. Strasser loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of The National Rifle Association, Safari Club International and was also a conservationist. Daniel lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, Montana, and Missouri. While in Illinois he served as head usher for Concordia Lutheran Church in Berwyn.Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include a daughter Lori (John) Torres of Dubuque, IA and a son Edmond Strasser of Orange County, FL, 2 sisters Judith (Larry) Smykal of Appleton and Bari-Lynn (George) Rezabek of Colorado, a brother Gary (Carol) Strasser of Deerbrook, WI, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, Leland M. Strasser, Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Grace (Jones) Strasser, his maternal grandparents Gustav and Esther (Heschke) Wolters, an infant sister Barbara Janet and nephew Gary D. Strasser,Jr. Visitation for Daniel will be Friday form 4-7PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Interment will take place Saturday at 10:30 AM at Kempster Cemtery. Rev. David Karolus will officiate.
