Darla Jane Fischer

Darla Jane Fischer, 72, of Antigo, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on April 24, 2025, after a valiant battle against cancer.

Born on July 28, 1952, in Shawano, WI, to Ralph and Mabel Nickel, Darla was married to Kenneth Fischer on May 29, 1971.

Darla is survived by her husband, Kenneth, sons Christopher Fischer (Wendy), of Clayton, WI, Darin Fischer (Elly) of Antigo, WI, and Brandin Fischer, also of Antigo, WI; her grandchildren, Max Fischer, Spencer Fischer, Arielle Fischer and Chase Fischer; her siblings Barbara (Jerry) Keen, Janice (Robert) Tesch, Vaughn (Debbie) Nickel and many nieces and nephews. Darla was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Duane (Barbara) Nickel.

Darla’s family would like to thank Dr. Chris Peterson for his wonderful care and compassion, the staff of the Volm Cancer Center, and the caregivers at LeRoyer Hospice. Per Darla’s wishes, no memorial or funeral will be held. In talking to our mom, every time a classic rock song is heard (she had so many favorites), a craft is done, a plant cared for, or when a four-legged furry friend gets snuggled, please smile and think of her.
