Darlene Bennett

Darlene Bennett, age 82 of Antigo, was called home to be with the Lord and reunited with her husband on November 26, 2022.

Darlene was born on October 31, 1940 in Tigerton to the late Ivan and Irmgard (Lehman) Anderson. She attended St. John Lutheran School in Tigerton and went on to graduate from Tigerton High School in 1958.

Darlene met the love of her life on October 31, the couple’s shared birthday. Darlene and Jonathan “Jack” married on July 9, 1960 in Tigerton. The couple shared 43 wonderful years together before Jack passed on November 4, 2003. He remained the love of her life and the focus of many of her conversations, until she would one day join him in heaven.

Darlene and Jack spent time residing in Appleton and California before settling in Antigo. She worked at Butch’s Super Valu in the deli for 27 years before retiring in 2016.

Darlene had many talents and in her younger years enjoyed music and cake decorating. She shared her talent of singing by performing duets with her father on the radio in her teen years. She also had a love for chihuahuas which she passed on to many of her family members. Above all, she loved God and her family. She was a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran.

Darlene is survived by daughters, Pam (Lee) Christjohn of Antigo and Gerri (Don Curtis) Bennett of Tigerton, siblings, Joy (Al) Murray of Tigerton, Don (Sue) Anderson of Appleton, Marcia Cassiani of Appleton, Jackie Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Dahl of Appleton, and Jerilyn (Steve) Hidden of Appleton, 4 grandchildren, Travis Christjohn of Antigo, Ashley (Travis) Dieck of Antigo, Miranda Bennett of Marion, and Amber (Dakota) Delapena of Deerbrook, great grandchildren, Molly, JC, Sienna, Morgan, Jolie, Tristan, Jackson, Luna, Nova, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by brothers Lyle and Bill Anderson and many members of the Bennett family.

A memorial service for Darlene will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. A visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
