Darlene Rae Oldenburg, age 71, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Darlene was born on November 12, 1946 to the late Harold and Pearl (Brendemihl) Oldenburg in Antigo. Darlene was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1965. She was raised in the Gleason area and later moved to Antigo. Darlene worked at Semling & Menke in Merrill, Coon's Franklin Lodge in Woodruff and Nokomis, FL, Goodwill, Butch's Supermarket and most recently Johnson Electric Coil, from which she retired. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and formerly a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason. Darlene loved her jewelry and makeup, flowers, decorating, writing letters, dining out, shopping and buying gifts, and family get-togethers. She was a friendly person, and always keeping her door open for anyone who came by. Survivors include 2 sisters, Sandra (Carl) Drexler of Deerbrook and Adeline Tomski of Antigo, nieces and nephews, Ronald Sykora, Jan Sykora, Robin Tomski, Larry Tomski, Tammy Gruhn, Troy Drexler and his family, and Todd Drexler and his family. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Sykora; and 2 brothers-in-law, Frank Sykora and Ernest Tomski. Funeral services will be Tuesday Jan. 2 at 10:30 at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend David Karolus will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00-10:30 Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Town of Summit Cemetery
