David Lee Hipke died Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Wausau at the age of 31. He was born June 1, 1982, son of Mark Hipke and Launa (nee Howard) Miller. He attended school in Antigo and Gillett, and graduated from Gillett High School. He served in the US Army. He was a fighter in mixed martial arts professional bouts, and he had training in jiu-jitsu, boxing, and karate. He was employed at Merit Gear. He attended Faith Center Church of God. Survivors include his mother, Launa Miller (Wesley Wnetkowski) of Baraboo; father, Mark (Tanya) Hipke of Antigo; a son, Carter; 3 daughters, Jazzalynn, Azaielea, Serenity; 3 brothers, Justin Hipke of Appleton, Boe Messer of Lyndon Station, and Dillon Messer of West Salem; 4 sisters, Rachel Hipke of Stevens Point, Sarah Hipke of Stevens Point, Amanda Hipke-Fonder of St. Paul, MN, and Aryanna Hipke; step-sister, Cattlynn Stienbring; step-brother, Alex Stienbring; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Brochin of Antigo; paternal grandmother, Sandy Hipke, paternal grandfather Robert Hipke of Wisconsin Rapids; 3 aunts, Vicki (Christopher) Chambers of Baraboo, Sheila (Vince) Davis of Antigo, Lori Hipke of Minocqua; 3 uncles, Mark (Nicole) Howard of Stevens Point, Bob Hipke of Stevens Point, and Jerry (Linda) Youngquist of Land O' Lakes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Brochin. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Center Church of God in Antigo, with Pastor Danny Pyeatt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
