David R Ungethum Jr of Antigo passed away on October 26, 2023, at home surrounded by his family, following a very short, but courageous battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
Dave was born on August 20, 1968, in Antigo, WI to Sheila (Rock) Ungethum. She survives.
He graduated from Antigo High School in 1986. He worked at Waukesha Bearings in Antigo for 15 years as a CNC Machinist and was forced to retire early due to Multiple Sclerosis.
He married the former Jodie Augustine. The couple later divorced.
In 2004, he was united in marriage to the former Karri Piller in Antigo. She survives and resides in Antigo.
Dave was a very compassionate, loving man, who treated his stepchildren as his own, and had a great sense of humor, and was known for his great “one liners”. He enjoyed riding 4-wheeler with his buddies in his younger years, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his only granddaughter Mila who Dave claims credit for teaching her how to do “so big”.
In addition to his wife and mother, Dave is further survived by a son Andrew Ungethum, 34 Stepchildren Tyler Bricko, 32 (Courtney), Rylee Bricko, 30, and his granddaughter, and apple of his eye, Mila. His furry companions Murphy and Winnie. Dave never missed one day taking them to the dog park.
Brother Jeremy Ungethum (Janelle), nieces Allison and Emily, Sister-in-law Kristin Conway (William), nephews Sam and Will and nieces Julia and Lorelei. Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Michael and Joyce Piller.
In accordance with Dave’s wishes, a memorial gathering will take place sometime in the summer.
Per Dave, “Drive fast, take chances”. Life is too short.
The family would like to thank all the kind, compassionate staff at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, Aspirus Wausau Hospital and LeRoyer Aspirus Hospice.
I love you more.
