Della Mae Maddix, age 88, of Antigo, passed away November 14, 2025 at Gardenview.

Della was born on May 31, 1937 in Crandon, WI to the late Wallace and Nola (Stamper) Bowling.

She spent her childhood years in both Antigo and White Lake.

On June 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jessie Maddix.

Della was a homemaker and also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Langlade Memorial Hospital. She the worked at Copps IGA preparing and serving samples, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

Her pastimes included reading, singing, playing the accordion and piano, collecting dolls, crocheting and raising chickens. She lived with a strong Christian faith, keeping her Bible at her side and reading it daily. She taught Sunday School at Ark of Lord Church in Elton.

She is survived by her beloved family including her children: Jeannie (Jeff) Robinson, Terry (Mary) Maddix, Wanda (Larry) Archer, Debbie (Kevin) Domke, Linda (Randy) Geary, Ethan “Jesse” (Lori) Maddix, Jamie (Everett) Gibson, Eden Piotrowski, 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, her siblings: Cleo Church, Darlene Jameson, Wallace (Eileen) Bowling, Eddie (Linda) Bowling, Martha Cox, Susie (Delbert) Jennings and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Della was preceded in death by two grandsons, two sisters: Mabel Ratliff and Barbara Trent, and two brothers: Tommy and James Bowling.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20, at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Elton at Maddix Family Cemetery which is also known as Ark of The Lord Cemetery.
