Deloris R. Kohn

June 28, 1925 — February 10, 2010

Deloris Regina Grace Kohn, lifelong area resident, died Wed. Feb. 10 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 84. She was born in the Town of Norwood on June 28, 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Alma (Kieper) Parsons. She married Robert F. Kohn on June 5, 1948. He survives and resides in Antigo.She was a homemaker, and cherished raising her family and operating a dairy farm in Deerbrook. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory.A member of the Lutheran Church throughout her life, she was baptized July 19, 1925 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Polar. She was confirmed July 30, 1939 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. Deloris was active in Lutheran Women's Missionary League, taught Catechism, and was a board member of Zone 7 of Lutheran Hour Ministries.She belonged to Deerbrook Homemakers and was a leader of Longfellow 4-H Club for many years. She enjoyed bowling.In addition to her husband, she is survived by 6 daughters, Emily (Barry) Johnson of La Crosse, Marilyn "Pete" Schroepfer of Algoma, Beverly (Jerry) Parr of Merrill, Sally (John "Flip") Filipiak of Geneva, IL, Jean (Lee) Nuernberger of Medford, and Connie (Brian) Shier of Gladstone, MI; 2 sons, Jim (Connie) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Dan (Gloria) of Antigo; 2 sisters, Margaret Bartz of Antigo, and Bernice Pearson of Wausau; a brother, Gordon (Roxanne) Parsons of Shawano; 23 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lorraine Hintz; and a brother, Carl Parsons.Her family and her faith were her life, and passing on the values she lived by to her family was a gift to each of us.
