Dennis Albert Kohn

Dennis Albert Kohn, age 76, of Antigo, died at his home on July 22, 2026 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice after a seven year battle with cancer.

Dennis was born on March 23, 1950 in Antigo to the late Ferdinand and Wilma (Sperberg) Kohn.

On April 5, 1969 Dennis was united in marriage to Diane Shelley of Antigo.

Dennis was raised in Deerbrook and was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1968. He then enlisted in the US Navy. He served 22 years as an aviation ordinance man and his final 12 years as a nuclear weapons instructor in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Throughout his naval career, he lived in Florida, California, Virginia and Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. He also served two tours in Vietnam.

Upon retiring from his military service, Dennis returned to Antigo and was employed as a mechanic at Clark’s Auto.

One of Dennis’s favorite pastimes was stock car racing, a passion that was also shared by some of his children and grandchildren.

Dennis was a lifetime member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Deerbrook.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his 2 sons Dustin (Karla) Kohn of Rib Mountain, and Derek Kohn (Kelly Ison) of Antigo, a daughter Jeri-Lynn Kohn (Josh Schmitz) of Antigo, 11 grandchildren: Austin, Adam, Amber, Abby, Scott, Stacie, Toby, Kathryn, Kellijo, Noah, Caleb and 7 great grandchildren: George, Ian, Eddie, Nakeyah, Stormi, Samuel and Melody.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by 2 sisters Gladys Zima and Dorothy Matuszewski.

A private family service will be held.
