Donald C. Brochin, of Antigo, died Tues. Sept. 15, 2010 at his home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and his family. He was 82 years old.He was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Vincennes, IN, son of the late Henry and Opal (Norris) Brochin. He grew up in Indiana, graduating from Wheatland High School. He became an over the road truck driver, and while on a trip to Langlade County, he met Rosemary Forbes. They married on Nov. 21, 1965 in Illinois.For the previous 19 years, Mr. Brochin was employed by Karl's Transport. He retired in 2010, after earning the driver of the year honor in 2009.He was a charter member of Faith Center Church of God, where he served on the church board and helped build the church. He was active in Operation Compassion, the church's food pantry, driving the food truck. He also was a leader of Life Builders, the men's group of the church. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Rosemary, include 5 daughters, Stephanie (Junior) Selby of Vincennes, IN, Elisa (Dave) Boger of Vincennes, IN, Vicki (Christopher) Chambers of Baraboo, Launa Miller of Baraboo, and Sheila Davis of Baraboo; 3 sons, Rick (Penny) Brochin of Bruceville, IN, Bill (Theresa) Brochin of Bicknell, IN, and Mark Brochin of Stevens Point; a sister, Mary Jane (Dan) Jerome of Turtle Mountain, ND; 24 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald "Donny", and a daughter, Paula Mincey.Together Don and Rosemary created a home of love. Their home and hearts were always open to all in need.
