Donald Ray Holland of Antigo passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the age of 70, under the care of his family. Don was born on October 18, 1947 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late Troy Lee and Robbie Mae (Gentry) Holland. He was raised in Alabama, then later moved to Zion, Illinois before residing in Antigo. Don served in the U.S. army during the Vietnam War. On September 7, 1979, Don was united in marriage to Christine Ingram. The couple were married in Kenosha, WI. Don was a very hard worker and throughout his years worked at American Motors Chrysler, Fittante's County Market, and City of Antigo Parks and Recreation. Don enjoyed singing, watching sports, specifically the Chicago Bears, and most of all spending time with his family. Don and Christine were known for their open hearts and open home that brought many into their family. In addition to his wife Christine, Don is survived by his daughters, Kathy Volpentesta of Antigo, Tonya (Dale) Deisinger of Antigo, and Sheila Holland of Winthrop Harbor, IL; sons, Brian Volpentesta of Antigo and Gary Holland of Antigo; sisters, Jeanette (Seba) Underwood of GA and Jean Kennedy of MS; brothers, Arvis (Chris) Holland of Hayward, WI and Jerry Holland of Antigo; grandchildren, Coty (Elizabeth) Parizek, Ashley (Ben) Volpentesta, Shana (Brad) Bricko, Casey Anstutz, Alexis and Brianna Holland, Frank, Joseph, and Julia Volpentesta; great-grandchildren Nathan and Bentley. A funeral service for Don will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Volm officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home as well. Following the service, burial will take place at Elmwood cemetery.
