Donald W. Helm

Donald Walter Helm, of Antigo, died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Kindred – Eastview. He was 75 years old He was born March 3, 1938 in West Allis, son of the late Walter and Lucille Helm. He married Virginia "Jennie" Lee Flak on June 8, 1973 in Milwaukee. She survives and resides in Antigo. Mr. Helm previously resided in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Allis. He owned and operated a woodworking business, making wooden trains, furniture, and crafts. He also worked in the air conditioning field in Milwaukee. He later worked at Johnson Electric Coil, Antigo Middle School, and Menards in Antigo. In addition to his wife, Jennie, he is survived by 3 stepsons, Ricky Dale (Sandy) Rea of Elton, Randall Douglas (Sandy) Rea of Bryant, and Ronald David (Angie) Rea of White Lake; a brother, Roger (Lori) Helm of Waukesha; 6 step-grandchildren, Brandon, Brian, and Bruce Rea, and Krissy, Jake, and AJ Hipke; 2 sisters-in-law, Debbie (Michael) Waters of Elton and Judy Flak of Elton; a brother-in-law, Bob (Darla) Flak of Dewey, AZ; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Dorsch officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name.
