Donna Marie Summ

Donna Marie Summ (Pankratz) Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother has left this earth to be greeted by our Lord and Savior on December 2, 2020 at the age of 79. She was born June 21, 1941, a daughter to the late Ruth and Clarence Pankratz in Phlox, WI. Daughter-in-law to the late Marcus and Mildred Summ. She was an Antigo High School graduate in 1961. She married the love of her life, Arlan Summ on June 24, 1961 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where they are devoted members today. They worked together to own and operate their own dairy farm in Polar. Donna was a very hard worker and worked outside the family farm in the potatoes, McDonalds, Polar manufacturing, and Head Start at different times. She was a proud, long standing member of the St. Peter’s Lady’s Aid and Mary Martha’s. She also helped many years with vacation bible school. She enjoyed many years of bowling and each girl on her team was found to be among her best friends. She used her voice to perform with the Sweet Adaline Choir for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She greeted everyone she met with a smile and kind words. With her loving heart, she enjoyed giving generously to others and especially kids. She loved to plant and tend to her garden. She enjoyed sharing all that it produced. Donna and her husband raised four children; Cindy Summ of Wausau, Neal Summ (Rose) of Bryant, Dale Summ (Lisa) of Antigo, and Sherry Skarlupka (Richard) of Antigo. She was a grandmother of nine; Jennifer Summ, Wayne Summ (Michelle), Amanda Summ (Brad Tatro), Tyler Summ (Oliva Wolf), Melissa Andes (Corey), Preston Smith, Samantha Skarlupka, Jacob Skarlupka (Kirsten), Aaron Skarlupka (Beverly), Evan Skarlupka (Brittney) and Great-Grandmother of 9; Hunter, Elayna, Brandon, Breanna, Braden, Zola, Owen, Harrison, and Jack. She is survived by her husband, children, three brothers; Keith Pankratz (Kathy) of Neenah, WI, Tim Pankratz (Candance) of Antigo, and Tom Pankratz (Patty) of Antigo, three brothers-in-law; Leon Summ (Judy) of Appleton, WI, Milan Summ (Jan) of Madison, WI, and Hilton Summ (Connie Jo) of Ft Meyers, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband’s parents, three brothers; Jerry Roger, and Duwayne Pankratz, one sister; Marlene Arrowood, and one sister-in-law; Beverly Summ. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 1:30 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar with Pastor Donald Engebretson officiating. A visitation will take place at the church from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on December 6, 2020. Burial will follow the service at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Those in attendance will be asked to observe social distance and wear masks.
