Donna Norton of Antigo, formerly of Birnamwood, passed away on February 9, 2022 at The Bay at Eastview, at the age of 77. Donna was born on July 26, 1944 in Antigo to the late Joseph and Estelle (Price) Wilson. She graduated from Antigo High School. On October 6, 1962, Donna was united in marriage to Charles V. Norton. Charles preceded her in death in 2005. She worked as a cook and a certified nursing assistant. Most recently she was a foster grandma for the Unified School District of Antigo. Donna enjoyed reading and crocheting. She loved making handmade blankets and quilts especially for each grandchild. Donna was very family oriented, and her grandchildren were her world. She took the time to teach each grandchild how to sew and played Mrs. Santa Clause for them at Christmas time. She treated everyone as family and made everyone to feel welcome at her home, offering them food the moment they walked through her door. Donna is survived by children Robyn (David) Blankenbeker of Birnamwood, Roger (Mary) Norton of Nebraska City, NE, and Virginia (Henry) Jensen of Antigo, siblings Joseph William (Arlene) Wilson of Sheboygan, Nancy Boykyns of Texas, Patricia Wruck of Arizona, Deborah Smith of Texas, and René Lytle of Florida, grandchildren Molly, Michael, Mary, Roger Jr. “RJ”, Krystal, Heather, Robert, Justin, Jasmine, Austin, and Lily, 11 great grandchildren, and lifelong friend of over 50 years, Barbara Hoeppner. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by son Ronald Norton, sister Joanne Douglas, special friend Gordon, and brothers-in-law Richard Boykyns, Larry Wruck, and Robert Douglas. A memorial gathering for Donna will be held on Saturday, February 19 1:00PM until 4:00PM at the American Legion Hall, 645 7th Avenue, Antigo. There will be an additional celebration of life held in the spring for those who are unable to attend. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Bay at Eastview for their loving care of Donna and making the end of her life comfortable.
